On 9th November 2024, five teams took part in a pub crawl maze in the town of Kendal, UK, for the grand unveiling of my new pub maze app, which lets you design your very own pub maze, anywhere you want, anytime you like. Kendal was the first time that the pub maze app had been tested in a 'live' environment, and it was very nerve-racking for me. Thankfully, it (mostly) worked as intended and everyone had a fantastic time.
The maze took in ten pubs in total: The Brewery Arts Centre, The Shakespeare Inn, Ye Olde Fleece Hotel, Ring O' Bells, Masons Yard 24, The Fell Bar, The Wine Bar, Indie Craft Beer, The Factory Tap and The Barrel House.
It was a very competitive event, with different teams adopting very different strategies – some successful, some less successful. The winners were:
- Team winners: The Andrew Northall Project (Chloe Almond, Hannah Devine, Erin Finn, Raoul Hidalgo Charman, Gracie Sharp and Dalek).
- Individual winner: Csaba Szabo.
Special mention has to go to Csaba for finishing an incredible 24 alcoholic drinks. That's even more of a feat when you consider that his team started three hours after all the others!
Well done to everyone who took part and here are some pictures to give a flavour of the day's action:
Don't forget to give the pub maze app a try yourself. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun!
